At X Light, we are thrilled to have brought our expertise in innovative lighting design to NORDHUS, a vibrant new cultural hub in the heart of Copenhagen. Partnering with Entasis Architects and the Nordhus Foundation, we aimed to create a lighting solution that enhances NORDHUS’s unique blend of community, creativity, and sustainability. By seamlessly integrating carefully selected lighting fixtures, we have helped bring warmth, atmosphere, and functionality to this iconic space, making it a welcoming place for creators, culture lovers, and the next generation of visionaries.
Set in the striking Red City district, the NORDHUS building is an architectural landmark known for its iconic south-facing gable and stunning brickwork. Our lighting design complements these architectural elements, adding depth and character to the building’s unique features. In the main hall, which boasts nearly six-meter-high ceilings, we installed fixtures that accentuate the height and grandeur of the space, creating a bright yet inviting atmosphere ideal for cultural events, gatherings, and creative workshops.
Our approach combined cutting-edge technology with thoughtful design. For NORDHUS, we selected a range of fixtures from Reggiani Illuminazione and Imperial Lighting that bring versatility and control to each area of the space. The Reggiani Illuminazione lineup, including the Cells, Yori Surf. Base, Yori Evo Ghosttrack, Mood Pro, and Incline UGR, provides adaptable lighting that can shift to meet different needs, from intimate gatherings to larger events. In addition, Imperial Lighting´s Proline 50 XC and Proline 50 fixtures offer high performance and low energy consumption, aligning with NORDHUS’s eco-conscious approach.
In collaboration with Entasis, X Light is proud to support the Nordhus Foundation’s mission of fostering sustainable development and inclusive communities. By designing a lighting system that enhances well-being and reduces environmental impact, we hope to set an example of how lighting design can positively contribute to the broader goals of sustainability and community building.
